Sundelson wins SA Amateur Championship

Jedd Sundelson earned a 3&2 victory over Morris Schiefner and with it, completed an historic SA Amateur Championship triumph.

There was no separating the pair over the first 18 holes before Sundelson moved 2-holes clear through 23 holes. Wins by Schiefner at the 24th and 27th holes brought the match back to All-Square. Four halved holes followed before a Schiefner bogey at 14 saw Sundelson edge clear once more. 

Birdies by Sundelson at the 15th and 16th holes saw him over the line 3&2 and emulate his Grandfather Neville who won the 1972 tournament by winning the championship match 3&2.

PGA Tour: Rose wins Farmers Insurance Open in record-fashion

Justin Rose lapped the Farmers Insurance Open field as he won by seven shots after closing with a round of 2-under 70.

Rose set a break-neck pace over the first 36 holes, opening with a round of 10-under 62 around Torrey Pines’ North Course before backing it up with a 7-under 65 on the South.

The Englishman had no intention of letting up as a 68 over the South put him six shots clear after three rounds.

A Sunday on which Rose collected three front-nine birdies and a dropped shot on the back-nine was more than enough to ensure an emphatic triumph with Pierceson Coody (65), Si Woo Kim and Ryo Hisatsune who both shot final round 69s, finishing in a share of 2nd. 

LPGA Tour: Korda wins weather-affected Tournament of Champions

Nelly Korda captured her 16th LPGA Tour title at the Tournament of Champions, winning the weather-affected event by three shots over Amy Yang.

The American’s victory was largely the product of a superb 8-under 64 in the third round on Saturday in trying conditions. Her round featured an eagle-2, seven birdies and just a lone bogey.

Adverse weather on Sunday saw the event reduced to 54 holes with eight players returning to complete their rounds. Yang was among the group but her eventual 3-under 69 did not challenge Korda.

DP World Tour: Schott wins Bahrain Championship after 3-man playoffย

Pars at each of the first two holes of sudden-death were enough for Freddy Schott to see off the challenge of Patrick Reed and Calum Hill at the Bahrain Championship.

Hill, who led through 54-holes, shot a 1-under 71 to end regulation on 17-under par. Reed shot the lowest final round of the three, a 67 which featured seven birdies and two bogeys, while Schott carded a 69. 

Reed, winner at the previous event the Dubai Desert Classic, was the first to bow out after bogeying the par-4 18th in the playoff while Schott and Hill traded pars. 

Hill ran in to trouble on the second trip down 18, his tee-shot going Out of Bounds before his 4th shot met a watery end, thwarting his challenge altogether.  

Sunshine Tour/HotelPlanner Tour:ย Viljoen beats Germishuys in playoff

A birdie at the first extra-hole helped MJ Viljoen beat Deon Germishuys in a sudden-death playoff to win the SDC Open for his fourth Sunshine Tour title.

The event marked the start of four events co-sanctioned by the Sunshine and HotelPlanner Tours. Viljoen shot a 2-under 70 which saw him drop shots at 15-17 before a clutch birdie at the last meant he tied Germishuys (67) on 16-under.

The playoff was short-lived for Germishuys who made a double-bogey 7 to Viljoen’s 4. The win was Viljoen’s first on the HotelPlanner Tour.

Korn Ferry Tour: Holt goes back-to-backย

Ian Holt earned his second Korn Ferry Tour title in a row with a two-shot win over Adam Hadwin at the Panama Championship.

Days removed from his win at the Great Abaco Championship, Holt shot a round of 3-under 67 which included six birdies and three bogeys as he finished on 8-under for the event. 

Adam Hadwin, who lost his PGA Tour card at the end of 2025, was 2nd on 6-under par.
