PGA Tour: Fitzpatrick wins Valspar Championship
|

|
|
Matt Fitzpatrick birdied the 72nd hole of the Valspar Championship to emerge a one-shot victor over David Lipsky.
|
On a day where the final group of Brandt Snedeker and Sunjae Im battled to a 5-over 76 and 3-over 74 respectively, Fitzpatrick and Lipsky became locked in a struggle for the title.
|
After Fitzpatrick birdied the 15th, Lipsky responded with a birdie at his 14th to draw level.
|
A week removed from his runner-up at The Players Championship, Fitzpatrick rolled in a 15-footer for birdie and a 3-under 68. It was perhaps poetic justice for the Englishman who'd missed four birdie chances from inside 10-feet during a seven-hole stretch.

When Lipsky arrived at the 18th, he had a chance to tie Fitzpatrick on 11-under but his bid from 30-feet ultimately came up shy as England's Fitzpatrick won a 3rd Tour title.

LPGA Tour: Kim holds off Korda to win Fortinet Cup

Hyo-Joo Kim withstood a Sunday challenge from Nelly Korda to prevail by a shot at the Fortinet Cup.
|
An opening round of 9-under 63, followed by a 70 and 66 paved the way to a 5-stroke 54-hole lead.
|
A level-par opening-9 on Sunday, coupled with Korda going 5-under through 10 meant her lead vanished with 8 to play.
|
Korda though was unable to find a red number over the remaining holes while carding two bogeys.
|
The title race turned scrappy with Kim making two birdies and three bogeys on the final eight holes, including a drop at 18.
|

But she did just enough to hang on for the win...
|

DP World Tour: Gumberg pips Campillo to Hainan title

Jordan Gumberg completed a wire-to-wire victory at the Hainan Classic, winning by one over Jorge Campillo after a final round of 2-under 70.
|
The pair dominated the event from start to finish. Gumberg held sole-possession of the lead through two rounds after following up an 8-under 64 with a 66. Campillo, trailing by two through 36 holes, drew level with Gumberg after a bogey-free 5-under 67 in round 3.
|
|
Spain's Campillo mixed three birdies with two drops in the last round. Gumberg meanwhile made as many birdies but just the solitary drop which ultimately made all the difference.

LIV Golf Tour: DeChambeau wins in South Africa after playoff

Bryson DeChambeau won his second LIV event in as many weeks, defeating Jon Rahm on the first extra hole to win LIV South Africa.
|
DeChambeau needed to save par from the greenside bunker at the 72nd hole to join Rahm in a playoff, the pair finishing at 26-under.
|
The thousands of fans who'd lined the fairways and surrounded Steyn City's greens for SA's first LIV event weren't disappointed by the playoff quality.
|
Taking relief from a muddy area after carting his tee-shot way left in the playoff, DeChambeau hit a tracer-bullet of an approach into the heart of the green at the par-5 18th.
|
In the fairway off the tee, Rahm's approach found the greenside trap, from where he managed to give himself an outside look at birdie.
|
It was not to be for the Spaniard, however as his putt stayed above ground. DeChambeau's eagle effort was on rails before coming to rest just short of the cup.
|
His tap-in birdie put the seal on not just the victory but an event that captured the imagination of South African golf fans throughout.
|
|
From a local standpoint, it was unfortunate that the Southern Guards were pipped to the Team title by DeChambeau's Crushers, 76-under par to 75-under.

Sunshine Ladies Tour: Venter birdies way to Platinum Classic victory

Gabrielle Venter birdied her final two holes of regulation and then the first extra-hole to defeat Madelene Stavnar and win the Platinum Ladies Classic.
|
Stavnar had led the event through 36 holes after rounds of 9-under 63 followed by a 69 in round 2. Venter's strong finish though helped cap off a round of 66 which ultimately saw her draw level with Stavnar on 16-under for the event, Stavnar having closed with a 68.
|
|
After finding a divot off the tee in the playoff, Venter made a bold play by hitting a 5-wood which found the green from where she two-putted for the victory over Stavnar who made a par-5.
|

HotelPlanner Tour: Daffue wins 2nd title of season at PGTI Open

MJ Daffue captured his second HotelPlanner Tour title of 2026, winning the PGTI Open by one shot from Saptak Talwar and Jhared Hack.
|
A remarkable 11-under 61 in the second round propelled Daffue into a share of the lead with Rashid Khan on 13-under par.
|
Khan fell out of the lead after 54 holes and Daffue was joined at the top by Lukas Nemecz.
|
Nemecz laboured to a Sunday 71 while Daffue confirmed his victory with a 69 which featured a birdie at the 9th and an eagle-3 at 14.
|
|
Daffue is now a victory away from automatic promotion to the DP World Tour.
|

PGA Tour Champions: Alker defends Cologuard Classic title after playoff birdie

Steve Alker successfully defended his Cologuard Classic title by making a birdie at the first hole of sudden-death to defeat Padraig Harrington.
|
Alker rebounded from a level-par opening round with a 9-under 62 to vault into contention. A Sunday 65 saw him end regulation tied with Harrington on 15-under par. Harrington closed with a 67.
|
Both players found the fairway off the tee in the playoff. Both found the green though at 30-feet, Harrington had the longer birdie bid.
|
|
While Harrington's effort slid by the hole, Alker found the bottom of the cup to register the victory.
|
