PGA Tour: Bridgeman wins Sunday shootout at Biltmore Championship

The scoring shootout on Sunday at the Biltmore Championship began with an 11-under 60 from J.T. Poston. It continued with a 61 by Ben James. But it was Jacob Bridgeman's 61 which defined a two-shot victory at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.

Neal Shipley held a slender one-shot lead heading in to the final round, primed for a maiden Tour title. Surprisingly for a man who sandwiched a 9-under 62 between two 65s, he recorded his first birdie on Sunday at the 8th in an eventual 69 which scuppered his chances of victory.
|
Bridgeman on the other hand had no trouble collecting red numbers. Three in his first four holes was the ideal start before an eagle-3 at the 8th.
|
He was unrelenting in his pursuit of a second Tour title on the back-nine. A birdie at 10 preceded three on the bounce from the 13th before a final red number at his penultimate hole.

The resultant 61 ensured he held off James who birdied three of his last four holes in a 61 of his own though he'll have to wait a little longer for a maiden Tour title.

DP World Tour: Spaun wins BMW PGA in dramatic fashion

JJ Spaun birdied four of his final five holes in a round of 5-under 67 before watching on as Manuel Elvira double-bogeyed the 72nd hole to confirm a two-shot win for the American in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club.
|
Elvira, a co-leader through 54 holes with Filippo Cellil, overcame an opening-hole bogey to turn 1-under after birdies at the 4th and 8th holes.
|
Mixing birdies at 10 and 12 with a bogey at 14, Spaun's barnstorming finish meant that Elvira was two shots behind playing the par-5 17th. Elvira duly made an eagle-3 to draw level with his American counterpart.
|
Elvira though had his title aspirations destroyed by sand trouble. After his 2nd shot found the bunker, his third shot flew the green and found more sand beyond the green. Elvira's challenge continued to unravel and he ultimately could do no better than 7 where even a 5 would've kept his hopes alive.

Instead, the Spaniard's search for a maiden Tour title continues...

Korn Ferry Tour: Scott locks up PGA Tour card with Nationwide Champs win

Sandy Scott carded a 6-under 65 in the final round of the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship at the Ohio State University's Scarlet Course to earn his maiden Korn Ferry Tour title and his PGA Tour card for 2027.
|
He began the day four shots adrift of John Butler who set the 54-hole pace at 16-under par. A stunning 10-under 61 from South Africa's Barend Botha illustrated that there were low scores to be had on a day where heavy rain caused a lengthy suspension of play.
|
For Butler, though there was an eagle and three birdies on his card but his score was undermined by a double-bogey and a bogey on each nine in a 1-under 70.
|
|
By contrast, Scott's only dropped shot came at the 14th. He made three front-nine birdies and four on the back with red numbers at the 16th and 17th proving vital to eclipsing Butler come round's end.

HotelPlanner Tour: Friedrichsen wins and upstages Warren in Portugal

A Sunday 9-under 62 by Sebastian Friedrichsen saw the Dane upstage overnight leader Marc Warren and prevail by three shots in the Open De Portugal at PGA Aroeira.
|
Warren had led by three after 54 holes on the strength of 8-under 63s in both the second and third rounds. A Sunday 68 which featured four back-nine birdies was not enough to see the Scotsman enter the winner's circle.
|
|
That honour went to Friedrichsen whose front-nine of 3-under 32 preceded an explosive back-nine. Birdies at the 11th and 12th was just the beginning as the 23-year-old reeled off four successive red numbers from the 14th which propelled him to a maiden HotelPlanner Tour title.

PGA Tour Champions: Johnson wins sixth title of 2026 at PURE Insurance

Zach Johnson claimed a sixth PGA Tour Champions title of 2026 when he won the PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach by two shots from a trio of players thanks to a closing round of 7-under 65.
|
Ryan Armour, Henrik Stenson and Y.E. Yang shared the 36-hole lead on 8-under par. Though they all managed under-par rounds on Sunday, they were unable to keep pace with a charging Johnson.
|
He began with an eagle-3 at the 2nd before adding to his tally with birdies at the 5th and 6th holes before responding to a drop at the 7th with a birdie at the 9th.
|
|
Johnson kept his tally ticking with birdies at the 11th and 13th before closing out a superb performance with a birdie at the 18th.
|
