PGA Tour: Hovland makes birdie to win Monday playoff at Travelers Championship

|
Viktor Hovland holed a 7-foot birdie putt before benefitting from a miss by Scottie Scheffler from inside 3-feet to win the weather-affected Travelers Championship at. TPC River Highlands.
|
Scheffler's week began with a sensational 10-under par 60 on round one but he needed to hole an 8-footer for par on the 72nd hole in a round of 2-under 68.
|
This meant Scheffler ended regulation tied with Norway's Hovland who carded a round of 69.
|
A lengthy weather delay during the final round forced a Monday finish.
|
It was worth the wait. Both players found the green in regulation. Hovland made no mistake as he holed a left-to-right breaking putt which caught enough of the hole to find the bottom of the cup.

Scheffler wasn't as fortunate, his ball catching a piece of the hole but ultimately staying above ground.....a nasty miss inside 3 feet!

LPGA Tour: Ryu wins Women's PGA Championship

|
Haeran Ryu shot a 2-under 70 in the final round of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship at Hazeltine to prevail by two shots over Ina Yoon and become the first player other than Nelly Korda to win a Major in 2026.
|
Ryu had trailed first round leader Yoon by 10 shots through 18 holes after the latter carded a briliant 63. She backed it up with a Friday round of 69 to maintain control of the event.
|
Saturday was a struggle for the South Korean whose 75 left her two shots adrift of Ryu who bounced back from her slow start with rounds of 64 and 68.
|
Three bogeys over Ryu's first five holes on Sunday blew the event wide open as four players held possession of the lead at one time or another during the front-9.
|
Ryu though proceeded to collect four birdies over her next seven holes and didn't drop a shot for the balance of the round either.
|
|
Yoon matched Ryu's 70 on Sunday while Brooke Henderson (72) and Dewi Weber (70) shared 3rd-place a further shot adrift.

DP World Tour: 5-star Chacarra wins Italian Open

Eugenio Chacarra carded a final round 7-under 65 to win the Open d'Italia by five shots over Matt Wallace at Circolo Golf Torino.
|
Days removed from his infamous 11 in round one of the US Open, Joaquin Niemann made a strong start as the Chilean carded rounds of 7-under 64 and 8-under 63 to lead by two through 36 holes. His challenge stalled with rounds of 71 and 68 as he finished in 3rd-place.
|
Chacarra was in imperious form throughout. Following an opening round 66 with consecutive 65s, the Spaniard took a two-stroke advantage into the final round.
|
Chacarra was in a class of his own on Sunday: Four birdies on the front-nine and a run of three in a row from the 10th set a pace the chasing pack were simply unable to match.
|

An eagle-3 at the 15th was the exclamation mark on a dominant performance in which he eclipsed Wallace (67) by five shots and Niemann by six.

John Gough claimed victory in the Blot Play9 by two strokes over Frederik Kjettrup at Golf Bluegreen de Pléneuf Val André.

England's Gough opened his week with a 7-under 63 before rounds of 69 and 66 helped him build a two-shot advantage through 54 holes.
|
Three birdies over the first eight holes on the final day, against just one bogey, was an ideal start. A birdie at 11 was sandwiched between bogeys at the 10th and 12th but Gough restored parity on the nine with a birdie at the 15th.
|

Three closing pars helped him eclipse Kjettrup who signed for a closing round of 66.

Korn Ferry Tour: Nesbitt wins Memorial Health Championship

Drew Nesbitt earned his maiden Korn Ferry Tour title as he captured the Memorial Health Championship by a shot at Panther Creek Country Club.
|
He got off to a flying start with a first round 11-under 60 that featured two eagles, eight birdies and just one dropped shot. Rounds of 67 and 65 followed which enabled the Canadian to earn the first 54-hole lead of his Korn Ferry Tour career.
|
|
His final round wasn't without its setbacks, he bogeyed the 9th and 15th holes but he offset these with three birdies on each nine in a 5-under 66 which helped him pip Cole Sherwood to the title.

PGA Tour Champions: Pride beats Harrington in Dick's Open playoff

Dicky Pride parred the first hole of sudden-death to defeat Padraig Harrington and win the Dick's Open at En-Joie Golf Course.
|
Pride led after 18 holes having fired a 9-under 63. Harrington though led heading into the final round having shot 65 and 67.
|
Pride threw his hat into the ring on the final day with an opening-9 of 5-under 32 which was highlighted by four birdies in a row from the 5th. He made 8 birdies in all and just one bogey to end regulation on 18-under par.
|
Harrington ensured there was more golf to be played though with birdies at the 16th and 18th in a round of 66.
|
Harrington missed both the fairway and the green in the playoff and was unable to save par.
|
|
There were no such issues for Pride who found the short grass off the tee, the green thereafter before two-putting to become a two-time winner on PGA Tour Champions.
