PGA Tour: Echavarria triumphs after Lowry stumbles at Cognizant Classic

Nico Echavarria’s ability to keep bogeys off his card throughout the Cognizant Classic, and Double-Bogeys by Shane Lowry at 16 and 17, ensured he won the event by two shots.
|
Lowry led by three playing 16 before his tee-shot met a watery end and triggered a sequence which resulted in a double-bogey 6.
|
Amid Lowry’s difficulties, Echavarria birdied the par-3 17th to draw level.
|
A water-ball off the tee would befall Lowry at 17.
|
|
Echavarria may have parred the par-5 18th but Lowry still needed an eagle to tie the 17-under mark. A tee shot which found the fairway bunker put paid to that scenario.

LPGA Tour: Green wins HSBC Women's World Championship

Hannah Green shot a 3-under 69 to win the HSBC Women's World Championship by a shot from Auston Kim.
|
Green shared the 54-hole lead with compatriot Minjee Lee on 11-under par. Lee's challenge stalled with a level-par round of 72, winding up in a share of 3rd.
|
|
Green meanwhile collected an eagle and birdie on her outward-9 before offsetting three bogeys on the back-9 with as many birdies to hold off Kim who closed with a 67.

DP World Tour: Jarvis wins SA Open

Casey Jarvis won for the second week in a row, overcoming challenges from a trio of players and an untimely weather delay to prevail by three at the South African Open.
|
Jarvis, who won the Kenya Open, started the final round a shot to the good. Despite some testing moments, a round which featured four birdies and just a single dropped shot ensured he remained in front.
|
Holding a 2-shot lead with a hole remaining, an untimely weather delay opened the door for a bit of late drama. When play resumed, Jarvis hit a tee-shot which apexed at just 17-feet and left him 187m to a green guarded by water.
|
Water which, after pulling his approach, Jarvis could've found but he ultimately landed safely on the green, to his visible relief.
|
Needing to force the issue, nearest-challenger Hennie Du Plessis went flag-hunting and was not as fortunate his ball landed in the water, cost him a bogey-5 and a place in the Open Championship.
|
Jarvis knocked his birdie putt up to tap-in range before confirming himself as the 2026 SA Open champion.
|
|
Francesco Laporta (69) and Frederic Lacroix (65) shared 2nd-place with Du Plessis who shot a 69 of his own.

Korn Ferry Tour: Docherty wins Argentina Open

Four rounds in the 60's, capped off with a 5-under 65 saw Alistair Docherty win the Argentina Open by a shot from Chris Korte.
|
Docherty was in the title frame throughout the event, holding the solo or co-lead after each round. As consistent as he was, a final round of 9-under 61 from Korte meant that Docherty arrived at the par-4 18th needing a birdie to avoid a playoff.
|
|
The ensuing 3 he made not only secured the victory but a berth into the 2026 Open Championship as well.
